Mel Gibson & Oksana Grigorieva support CCPI
Mel Gibson & his partner Oksana Grigorieva held an exclusive Valentines Fundraising Event on Thursday 11th February in Los Angeles and all proceeds will be allocated to CCPI's Child Cardiac Surgery Programme. This event is part of an overall fundraising campaign recently launched by popular Ukrainian singer Oksana Grigorieva. To view more images from the event please see Getty Images.

The talented singer released a single 'Angel' and issued a public service announcement on behalf of CCPI. Her fundraising efforts will help increase awareness and the proceeds from the single downloads on iTunes will directly benefit the cardiac programme.
“I wrote the song Angel for my son,” says Grigorieva. “The song is about looking to the future with hope. That’s why I wanted to tie the release of the song to Chernobyl Children’s Project International, a charity that brings hope to children in communities affected by the Chernobyl disaster.”
Today in the Ukraine, 6000 children are born every year with genetic heart defects. More than half of these children will not get the surgery they need to survive and will die. Proceeds from downloads of Angel will allow Chernobyl Children’s Project International to send volunteer surgery teams to Ukraine and Belarus to operate on children for free and train local physicians.
