National Chernobyl Week 2009 a huge success
Sunday 26th April 2009 marked the 23rd Anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. In recognition of this anniversary, Chernobyl Children's Project International rolled out National Chernobyl Week from Monday 20th April 2009 to commemorate and honour the children and adults who continue to live with the social, economic and medical deprivation as a result of the disaster which happened 23 years ago. CCPI would like to thank all the volunteers nationwide who sold Charity Pins in towns, cities and villages across Ireland during this week.
CCPI would also like to thank Dunnes Stores, Insomnia Coffee Shops and O'Brien's Sandwich Bars and all other retailers, shopping malls, companies and schools throughout Ireland who were so generous in helping CCPI make the week a success.
