Over 300 cyclists joined the Pfizers Cork to Galway Cycle

Monday, 22nd June 2009

The 7th Annual Chernobyl Children's Project International Charity Cycle took place on the 12th and 13th of June 2009. This year, Niall Kennedy and his colleagues in Pfizers and EMC pushed numbers above and beyond the 250 cyclists mark. The money raised will fund the complete refurbishmnet of a Soltanovka Adult Mental Asylum in Belarus. To date, Pfizer staff members, supported and sponsore by Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals and EMC, have raised over €600,000 through the annual cycle and other fundraising events. The funds raised helped CCPI to construct two Day Care Centres and provide three medical vehicles for use in each centre.

Many seasoned cyclists have said that of the many cycling events they have taken part in, this has been number one for organisation and provision of facilities and refreshments. For more information visit www.chernobylcycle.com
