CCPI develop Belarusian partnership to help people with disabilities in Belarus

Chernobyl Children’s Project International recently accompanied two Belarusian Government officials to the International Initiative for Mental Health and Disability Leadership Exchange in Ireland.

Children from Chernobyl regions fly into Ireland

Adi Roche, CEO, CCPI welcomed the first of 4 flights of children from the Chernobyl regions into Ireland this week. The children coming from the heart of the contaminated areas of Belarus and Western Russia, will be hosted by hundreds of Irish families throughout Ireland as part of CCPI's Rest & Recuperation programme. Irish host family volunteers continue to raise funds to support these children to ensure they benefit from the cleaner Irish environment. Over 1,000 children will benefit from Rest & Recuperation this year.

The Bray Outreach Group are attempting to break a World Record by handcuffing a record number of people together to help raise funds for three charities including Chernobyl Children's Project International. Voting has now closed for the 2010 Vodafone Ireland's 'World of a Difference' programme. Karolina Sinéad worked tirelessly to ensure her place but in spite of all efforts and tremendous campaigning the eventual winner was Benedicta Attoh of Plan Ireland. Chernobyl Children’s Project International (CCPI) would like to congratulate Karolina Sináead on successfully making it through to the fourth round out of almost 400 applicants. We would also like to reiterate our sincere thanks for all the hard work she has done as a volunteer over the past two years.

Westport Outreach Group launch Home of Hope

The Westport Outreach Group recently celebrated the launch of the Westport Home of Hope at an event attended by Adi Roche CEO, CCPI in Westport. The group have raised €50,000 over the last 15 months through continuous fundraising for a Home of Hope. The home will house up to 10 previously institutionalised children, giving them a true gift, the gift of a loving home.
