Skerries Food & Drink Expo 2010 to benefit CCPI

Need to expand your gastronomic repertoire? Head to the seaside town of Skerries on Friday, February 26th, where fifteen local restauranteurs and hostelries have come together to showcase their signature dishes and drinks at the annual Skerries Food and Drink Expo, ‘Food for Thought’. All proceeds from this tasty event will be donated to the Chernobyl Children’s Project International. Connoisseurs and critics alike will descend on Skerries Sailing Club on Friday, February 26th at 8.00pm where they will experience unique wines, world beers and artisan dishes many created with local produce.
The event will be launched by Richie Wilson, the head chef at Halo restaurant in the Morrison Hotel Dublin and a regular on RTE’s the Afternoon Show, this is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the best that Skerries has to offer. Set in a stunning location overlooking Skerries Harbour and North Beach, it is the perfect night out for even the most seasoned and experienced foodie with tickets costing only €30.
Chernobyl Children’s Project International are delighted to be the nominated charity again this year for this wonderful event. Last years’ expo helped to raise vital funds towards an anaesthetic machine for the Gomel Regional Hospital in Belarus. The funds raised also helped to cover the cost of staff training on how to use the machine. It is now used to carry out regular tonsillectomies which means’ many children can undergo tonsillectomies without unnecessary pain.
