CCPI Structure
The following is an outline of the organisational structure of the Chernobyl Children’s Project International.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the voluntary body which directs and coordinates the work of the Chernobyl Children’s Project International. The Board in Ireland and the US office decides upon strategy, manages the Project’s finances, and makes all key operational decisions so as to ensure that the Project’s aims and objectives are reflected in all aspects of the organisation’s work. In deciding on organisation strategy the Board lend their considerable experience and professional expertise across different fields including law, finance, education and anti-nuclear and radiation issues.
Board Members
Adi Roche Founder and Executive Director
Ercus Stewart a senior Counsel who joined the Board of the CCPI in early 2003. His considerable legal expertise and experience has been of immense help to the Board in planning strategy and in the development of a whole range of new initiatives. Ercus has been to Belarus to oversee our projects there on numerous occasions. He is a brother of broadcaster and environmentalist and consultant architect to CCPI Duncan Stewart.

Mary Ahern has been involved with the Project in a number of roles since its establishment and has always been one of its most committed and passionate members. A retired Primary School teacher, Mary has had a close involvement with the environmental movements and arts scene in Cork for many years.
Eoin Dinan is a civil servant from Dublin has long associations with the Project. An executive member of Irish CND for many years Eoin is a former CCPI Outreach Group Leader and continues to undertake a huge workload on behalf of the Project particularly on our Long-Term Care and Life Saving Operations programmes. He represents CCPI at political and international symposiums and workshops in the absence of Adi Roche. For most of his adult life he has been involved with a number of environmental and humanitarian organisations including the Irish United Nations Association and UNESCO.

Bill Keary a prominent Cork based business personality brings his business expertise and acumen to the board. He takes an active interest in all building projects and has formed close associations with suppliers. Bill has travelled to Belarus and examined our operations there with a view to providing strategic direction to the development of CCPI into the future.
Chernobyl Children’s Project International USA
CCPI USA is based in New York. This organisation works in conjunction with CCPI both in Ireland and in Belarus. It is also dedicated to providing humanitarian and medical aid to the children suffering from the Chernobyl disaster of 1986. CCPI’s primary goal is to promote the development of medical and humanitarian aid programs that serve to increase self-sufficiency and permanent change in the region.

U.S.A Board Members (US)
Kathy Ryan, Executive Director, has over 15 years experience as a business executive, and as a consultant to non-profit organizations. She spent 11 years at America Online, Inc., where she served in increasingly senior management positions. After leaving America Online, Kathy decided to put her business skills to work for non-profits that she believes in. She has consulted with the Frank Foundation, a humanitarian organization dedicated to the neediest children of the former USSR; Vital Voices Global Partnership, which offers training and support to women in emerging democracies, and AOL/Time Warner Foundation.
James M. Douglas is a Partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP. He is also the head of the firm’s Banking and Institutional Investing Group, which he helped establish in 1985. He represents numerous financial institutions, investors and corporate clients in all areas of private financings.
Sherrie Douglas has 12 years of experience in management and investment banking. As Associate Coordinator at Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom she was responsible for staffing and managing a group of 80 lawyers. As an internal analyst at Pru-Bache Securities, her experience was in financial and strategic analysis for the Fixed Income Department. After returning for her Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University’s School of Business, Mrs Douglas spent 7 years at Credit Suisse First Boston, an international investment bank, in the Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets Division.
Dr Novick has been Associate Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee - Memphis since September 1993 and Endowed Professor of the Paul Nemir, Jr. Chair of International Child Health since October 1999. Dr. Novick is the Founder and Medical Director of the International Children's Heart Foundation, a non-profit organization whose primary focus is on improving the care of children in developing countries. To date, the foundation has operated on over 2,000 children with congenital heart defects in 17 different countries. In 2002, Dr. Novick was presented the Red Star of Croatia by President Stipe Mesic for his humanitarian service to the children of Croatia. In 2004, Dr. Novick was awarded the Fransk Scoryna Humanitarian Presidential Medal for his dedication to the health and well being of Belarusian children with congenital heart defects. His work in Belarus was featured in the Academy Award winning film, Chernobyl Heart.
The members of the Board of Directors, including the Executive Director, do not receive payment for the work they undertake on behalf of the organisation, demonstrating the spirit of volunteerism that permeates all levels of the Chernobyl Children's Project International.
Office Staff
The headquarters of the Chernobyl Children’s Project International is situated in Cork, Ireland. CCPI employs 6 full-time members of staff who carry out all the day-to-day work in which organisation is involved. The staffs operates and oversees the organisation’s aid programmes, manage the organisation’s education and public awareness campaigns and coordinate all fundraising and administrative activities. The Chernobyl Children’s Project International also employs staff in Belarus, including nursing and administrative staff.

Outreach Groups
There are over 70 Chernobyl Children’s Project International Outreach Groups throughout Ireland. The Groups consist of volunteers and associates who undertake a wide range of activities on behalf of the organisation. The Groups fundraise on a year-round basis, host the Chernobyl children arriving in Ireland for rest and recuperation holidays, purchase ambulances, fund building projects, help with the special needs of long-term ill children, and assist in building awareness of the plight of the victims and survivors of the Chernobyl disaster.
