For our Christmas 2021 Appeal, we asked you to help Nastya, who is part of CCI’s Hospice and Community Care Programme.

Nastya was born with hydrocephalus, has brain damage and epilepsy, and a machine is needed to suction out her lungs every 30 minutes.  It is a miracle that, against all doctors’ predictions, Nastya has reached 18 years of age, and most of all, it’s a miracle that Nastya is still in her own home, with her loving mother by her side.

Unfortunately, over Christmas, Nastya fell severely ill; her oxygen levels were dangerously low, and she was in a critical condition.

Doctors warned that Nastya urgently needed a new Oxygen Concentrator to replace and improve her oxygen levels.

An Oxygen Concentrator is a machine that pulls in the surrounding air and filters out the nitrogen, providing a purer, more concentrated, oxygen.  This machine will keep Nastya alive.

Thankfully, due to the amazing response to our Christmas Appeal, CCI has purchased and delivered this vital machine. This machine will keep Nastya alive, in the care and comfort of her own home, with her mother and CCI’s Hospice Care Team by her side.
