Chornobyl is Forever – Banner hangs on Liberty Hall for 40th Chornobyl Anniversary

22 Apr 2026

Today, Liberty Hall shines with a powerful message of hope.
High above Dublin’s streets, Chornobyl Children International has unveiled striking commemorative banners to mark 40 years since Chornobyl … a reminder not just of resilience, but of compassion that knows no borders.
The words “Chornobyl is Forever” speak to a legacy of care, solidarity and unwavering commitment from the people of Ireland, reflecting four decades of Ireland standing shoulder to shoulder with children and families affected by the Chornobyl disaster.
From Liberty Hall, a place rooted in social justice, this powerful symbol sends a message to the world: we remember, we care, and we continue.
It also acts as a reminder of the lingering cross-generational damage of Chornobyl, which will take tens of thousands of years to disappear.
Thank you to every supporter, volunteer and family who has made this incredible journey of kindness possible. Together, we honour the past and keep hope alive for future generations.
